摘 要

《简·爱》与《德伯家的苔丝》都是英国现实主义文学的经典作品。小说中塑造了两位生活艰苦，但仍坚持追求理想生活的维多利亚时代的新女性——简·爱与苔丝，本文在向读者介绍简·爱与苔丝的生平后，讨论在相同的社会背景，不同的家庭背景、作家视角下，对比分析她们的受教育水平、性格特点、反抗历程等，进一步指出她们人生不同结局的成因。

ABSTRACT

Jane Eyre and Tess of the d'Urbervilles are both classic works of English realistic literature.Jane Eyre and Tess, two new Victorian women,who live a hard life but still pursue an ideal life, are portrayed in the novel. After introducing their lives to readers,this paper discusses their education level, personality characteristics and resistance course under the same social background, different family background and writers' perspective, and further points out their differences The causes of their different life endings.
