Research and Strategy of Family Inter-generational Education in Minority Poverty-stricken Areas
--Take Yezu village of Huidong County as an Example.

Abstract:The home is the place where children have their first social interaction. Inter-generational education is particularly common in family education. Therefore, through the method of literature research and interview, 30 grandparents and 30 fathers of 20 families of children were interviewed, and analyzed the present situation of inter-generational education in minority poverty-stricken areas. After the investigation find the following points: first of all, the grandparents are less educated and have less communication with their children. What’s more, grandparents and parents have different ideas about education. Last but not least, there are no long-term contact mechanisms between schools and children’s families. The reasons for these problems are as follows: Firstly, the education level of grandparents restricts the formation of high quality education and the emotional communication with children. Secondly, the education ideas of grandparents and parents are not consistent. thirdly, school and family have not established effective communication channels. In view of the above problems, the following strategies are proposed: to establish the correct concept of family upbringing, to integrate the two generations of different education methods, to strengthen parent-child education, to establish an effective mechanism of home-school co-education.
Key words: minority poverty-stricken areas; family education; inter-generational education
