On Translation Strategies of Children’s Picture Books from the Perspective of Piaget’s Theory of Cognitive Development

摘 要

随着时代的进步和教育观念的转变,儿童绘本已经成为了启蒙教育的一种重要手段。由于面对的是儿童这一特殊读者群体,所以绘本与其他文本的翻译存在一定的区别。目前绘本翻译的相关研究还是颇少,从皮亚杰认知发展理论这一视角出发的研究更少,而此理论对于儿童阶段的教育具有重要的引导作用。因此本论文将以皮亚杰认知发展理论为理论基础,以搜集到的儿童绘本中英文为语料,探究该理论指导下的儿童绘本翻译策略。本论文将探究不同理论视角下儿童绘本的翻译现状,然后介绍儿童绘本的特点,再通过具体的实例分析来论证皮亚杰认知发展理论对儿童绘本翻译具有一定的指导作用。

Abstract

With the progress of the times and the change of educational concepts,children's picture books have become an important means of enlightenment education. Due to the special reader group of children,there is a certain difference between the translation of picture books and other texts. At present, there are still very few researches related to picture book translation, and there are fewer researches from the perspective of Piaget's cognitive development theory, which has an important guiding role in childhood education. Therefore, this thesis will use Piaget’s cognitive development theory as the theoretical basis, and use the collected Chinese and English children’s picture books as corpus to explore the translation strategies of children’s picture books under the guidance of this theory. This thesis will explore the status quo of children's picture book translation from different theoretical perspectives, and then introduce the characteristics of children's picture books, and then through specific case analysis to demonstrate that Piaget's cognitive development theory has a certain guiding role in the translation of children's picture books.
